Ansel Adams on Why There Are No Rules
Welcome to Make Daily! This email contains an idea, reflection, and a simple action you can take to improve your life today.
"There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs."
— Ansel Adams
"The outcome itself matters infinitely more than the path by which it arrived."
Society pretends that credentials, education, or experience are necessary to getting a meaningful outcome, and this is completely false.
Those things can certainly help - but at the end of the day, the best result will be enough no matter where or how it came about.
The outcome itself matters infinitely more than the path by which it arrived.
What rules have you been following that aren't serving you? Break them today.
Creator Fact 👤
Ansel Adams was an American landscape photographer and environmentalist. He also is one of very few people to have their art sent into outer space.
In 1977, NASA and Carl Sagan chose Adam's photograph The Tetons and the Snake River to be carried on the Voyager 1 and 2 spacecrafts.
It was chosen because they believed if it was ever found by extraterrestrial life, it would give a good depiction of what our planet was like.
