A few weeks ago I let you know that Josh and I were hard at work on a new experiment for Make Something Cool.

It’s finally here… And it’s called Make Daily.

For the next 30 days, I will be publishing a short podcast and newsletter to help you make something cool every morning. Here’s episode #100 which describes the what, why, and when in detail…

The What

I was sick of starting my days distracted, so I started a new morning practice that has been a game-changer.

I research, reflect, and take a simple action on my own work based on what the greatest creators in history thought. This week alone I learned about Focus from Steve Jobs, Creativity from Toni Morrison, and Judgement from Naval Ravikant.

Make Daily is me taking what I learn and distilling it into a short email & podcast for you to enjoy every morning.

The Why

There are two reasons we are trying this experiment out:

1. Scratching my own itch
2. Making something brand new

Scratching my own itch

I’m sick of my days spiraling out of focus from the moment I wake up.

When you open your phone, there’s a million distractions waiting for you. Emails, social media, or the news. Before you know it, you’re drained before you even get started.

What if there was a short email & podcast that would help me stay on track instead of pulling me off?

That is what Make Daily is designed to do… A spark of motivation to start your day so you can defeat distractions and actually get the important stuff done.

Making something brand new

I’ve always wanted to experiment with a new format and delivery in ways I haven’t seen before. There are a lot of creators doing weekly interview podcasts, but there aren’t any delivering a daily offering like this.

I’m stoked to try something I haven’t seen before and see if others share the same hunger for this content that I do.

The When

We have committed to 30 days of this concept. If it doesn’t work, we will go back to the old interview format and remember this as a great learning experience!
