Idea πŸ’‘

β€œIt’s easy to stand with the crowd, it takes courage to stand alone.” – Gandhi

Reflection πŸ€”

It's easy to fall out of step with yourself if you're always focused on fitting in. Blindly following the crowd will lead to burnout, dishonest work, and a loss of interest in what you originally loved creating.

The anecdote is courage. A willingness to stand apart from other people. To take ownership of your truest, authentic self and to make work that reflects who that is.

This easier said than done. It takes bravery to say something different in your work. This comes from listening to yourself, and having the courage to make something unique from your individual perspective.

Action βœ…

Where are you following the crowd? Drop it and try something fresh.

Deeper Dive 🌊

A piece of advice that has stuck with me is from the famous investor Naval Ravikant. He talks about escaping competition through authenticity. How? No one can compete with you on being you.

Here's a 5 minute clip of Naval explaining this idea.
