After 250+ posts, I'm blowing this project up (again) 🤯

Hey friends!

Over the past year, I've written over 250 emails and it's taught me a lot. Before I get into the changes that are coming, I want to talk about how I've landed where I am.

Here's the honest truth: I'm completely burned out and am going to change everything. (Again)

Here are the reasons why

  1. Obsession with quantity is a low-reward game. On the internet we are made to believe that we should always be producing more. I've fallen for that trick with Make Daily, and it's cost me a lot of stress and joy in favor of making more for more's sake.
  2. No one cares what you think until you earn their trust. There are many people trying to be "thoughtfluencers" without having proved themselves trustworthy. I put myself in that camp... Despite having success in a creative career, I still struggle to believe my opinion matters as much as this emails format demands it to.
  3. Burning out in creative work is when you make it Science instead of Art. Simply put, when you make your creative work "logical", "planned", and "Strategy" only - it begins to feel like a job. All work no play in this game makes it no fun really quick.

It's because of these reasons that I am blowing up Make Daily into something completely new. It specifically addresses all 3 of the points above and I am genuinely so excited about bringing it to my readers.

I've shared the concept with a few trusted friends, and I can say with confidence it's the best iteration of this project to date.

Battling Insecurity

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't emberrassed to make another pivot. It's difficult to publicly change your mind and direction over and over. But I firmly believe that while most people simply quit when things get hard, it's those who keep iterating that will eventually find a way to win.

So that's what I'm doing. I'm blowing up Make Daily and rebranding this project into something completely new... and I've never been more ready to take all the incredibly learnings I've had over the span of this project to turn it into the right project for me and my audience.

As always, it means more than words can express to have you along for the journey with me. I'm incredibly grateful to have you stick around and join me on the journey.

So, what comes next?

I am launching the new project later this month. You will get notified once it's live right here in your inbox. Until then, I'm going to stop writing the daily emails to focus on getting it set up.

Thank you for reading and being a part of this journey. If you have any questions or thoughts for me, feel freel to reply to this email and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm an open book!

See you at the launch.
